On 27 September 2024, IDEAL and other parents self-help organizations held a meeting with  the Central Policy Unit to express our opinions and expectations regarding the policy related to people with intellectual disabilities and their caregivers.

Our appeals are as follows:

1. Establish a case manager and set up a central database for following up people with intellectual disabilities in the future.

2. Optimizing caregiver support.

3. Increase awareness to the issue of elderly care.

4. Provide domestic helper allowances to help with urgent needs and the shortage of residential care services for people with disabilities. 

5.Extend the fare discounts scheme of people with disabilities to their caregivers.
